Hey Mark, is that hat and the caliper made from alluminum or just nicely painted iron. How would you compare these brakes to 300zxTT aluminum ones?

The caliper is definitely aluminum, the hat is probably aluminum too, but I’ll let Mark answer that.

both are alu

comparable to z32, but probably with better fade resistance id say

less unsprung mass, too, which can never hurt

PS
lesson to all:

never evar tighten wheels with a pry bar

</div>

Yes the hat is aluminium. I personally haven’t driven a car with z32 brakes so I can’t really compare. But in terms of stopping power, it is going to be the same. Just depends on the kind of pads and tires you have. The only thing that might make these brakes better is the fact that the rotors are a little bigger so that means it can probably withstand more heat before your brakes will start to fade.

Is this the Arizona Z car Wildwood set up?

If not --, where did you source them What are the specs? What size wheels do they clear?

Thanks for any info

because were all mark/fobwall fan boys and this hasn’t been answered yet - I’ll do so 😉

Yes, they are AZC brakes and there is an excellent FAQ on the AZC website that you should read if you are considering this setup.

[http://www.arizonazcar.com/brakekitfaqs.html](http://www.arizonazcar.com/brakekitfaqs.html)

I drove mark car for a few laps on the track and it stops extremely hard - I wasn’t able to push the brakes to their limits because I wasn’t too comfortable in mark’s car after driving my own (very differnet) car most of the day.

Like Mark said, there probably isn’t too much different in actual braking POWER but being aluminum there is great heat dissipation, they are much much cheaper to maintain due to stainless steel pistons and other high quality parts (they literally never need to be rebuilt unless you damage something)

they’re very light even compared to an aluminum z32 caliper and the rotors is much lighter also since a good portion of it is aluminum. unsprung weight is extremely important and this definitely helps contriubute in that area as well.

They will not fit those wheels.

jonanthan how do you know they wont fit? i’m not saying that they will, but i’m surprised that you’re so sure unless you’ve actually checked. i believe they clear the stock 15" wheels

Because Konig Rewinds with 0 offset have very little caliper clearence so any calipers with pistons on both sides will not fit. (Z32, Willwood, Brembo, etc)

To begin with, you need at LEAST 16 inch wheels in order to clear the rotor.

These brakes are a BARGAIN! Anything else better than z32 TT will cost you $1800 and up.

Ksport ftw

8 piston front kit with 13" rotors cost me $1600 with race pads for my R32 GTR. I’m not a 240 guru so I dont know if Z32/R32 brakes fit your guys cars with no mods, but if they do, the same kit I have will fit. 17" wheels with decent offsets are required.

By far the best bang for buck kit out there IMO. If it stops like this with a heavy GTR it would be insane on a S chassis.

</div>

$1600 maybe a good price if it include everything that Wilwood set include + you don’t need to worry about calipers rebuilt as You will with other brand brakes. I know these brakes and they are really light comparing to alu z32’s calipers and especially the rotors. For car like 240 more than 4 pistons is just waste of calories.

Does the rear Arizona kit eliminate the handbrake? It doesn’t say anything about it, but for the 350Z kit, it says the drum handbrake is eliminated…

Can’t confirm anything yet… but I do take my car to the track, so they will obviously get used up a lot quicker than someone who drives their car on the street.
