I know this is going OT a bit, but give Myer’s a little more time and he will be one of the best defensemen in the NHL. The kid has some ridiculous skills and is still very young. And as Joe pointed out, his OT goal was unreal and just one sign of the things to come from him. Now Vanek, I will agree is not worth what he’s making but that’s the price you pay when you don’t lock up your good players sooner than later. ---

Well is Golisano thinking he has gotten the team to where he can most the most money off them? Personally I think its a cheap buy considering what the right person can make of the team. If this guy knows what he is doing, he can easily double his money. Late DEC - Early January. These things don’t just “pop up” in the circles of the NHL. This is exactly what we need to make this team a winning team. Tommy G doesn’t give a SHIT about hockey. If you can make a 100 million dollar ROI in 4 years, GOOD DEAL. You have to make it. It all comes down to the bottom line for that guy. ---

Toomy paid 92 million and it’s rumored 30 million of that was debt that was forgiven. The $150 million is the part that the Sabres organization is claiming is false about the letter of intent story, so chances are it’s more than that, probably closer to the $170 figure Forbes valued the team at. $108 million in profit on a 7 year deal ain’t bad. ---

Exactly, Im thinking that if this all goes through, he will have made all the money he wanted to without putting all the work into it. He did a great job with what he was given, but now it’s time for someone else to come in and take it to the next level. ---

I don’t think he made any profit if all the articles and such are true. He bought the team for $92M in 2003. According to Forbes in 2009 the team lost about 30M a year for 8 of 9 years… 2010-2003 is 7 years so assuming 1 was profitable, that’s 180M loss. If Forbes in 2010 is saying the team is worth 170M, he still had to have made a significant profit in that one year to cover the 108M of revenue losses (78M profit in the buy and sell of the team minus the 108M in revenue losses). ---
