well not so much. they dumped out a bunch of water I guess, he coerced this kid who lives on the second floor to go with him (no way i was gonna get my hands dirty for this clown, haha). so now he’s super excited all the water came out of the motor. i explained to him like 6 times to make sure he undoes all the vaccum lines from the throttle body back or at least the intercooler to make sure theres no massive leftover of water, but he doesn’t understand me when I slowly explain it time after time. he then asked me if he’s going to be ok, and i responded “i don’t know, i’ve never dumped a few gallons out of my motor, but shit i’d be worried when it does start, hell comes knocking.” he’s like “what do you mean” - “rod knock, dave, rod knock.” “so…is that expensive to fix?” ---

Lots of people buy those cold air kits to improve performance. Thats all well & good if it is a nice weather vehicle. I have one that sits 4 inches from the ground but I dont drive it in rain unless I get caught in a storm. Even then I take it easy, avoid standing water. Auto designers install intake boxes to be used in real world conditions. Not saying a dumb ass who drives through a 2 feet of water is going to survive but you get the idea. I remember the old 1982(?)84 Camaro Z28 with the cowl induction. It had a actuator that opened twin “scoops” under WOT that made a cool sound but didnt really help performance. Anyhow, there was a recall due to rain water getting into the carb when engine was off & when started all the H2o dumped into the engine locking the engine up, bending connecting rods. I did my share of shortblocks @ the dealer untill the problem was fixed. Bottom line, use common sense, if you have an aftermarket cold air kit sitting 8 inches from the ground, don’t go through a foot of water. ---

I have never had a issue driving in the rain although there is a noticeable decrease in power until the filter is sucked dry, and that only takes a few seconds of full boost usually. ---

To top it off intakes barely do anything on wrx’s as far as performance goes. I doubt his car is dead but i sort of hope it is cause he is a fuck tard and doesnt deserve a nice vehicle. ---

oh no, not at all. we clown on him all day. yeah, he’s a funny dude. maybe sometime i’ll upload this video i recorded on my macbook cam, him confessing to me how he fucked a prostitute. i was waiting to upload it on youtube someday when he pisses me off. this is after i found his craigslist personal ad after noticing he was on there an awful lot, and sent him 30 minutes away thinking he was going to score. all he scored was getting followed home by cops after sitting in some poor ladies driveway for 45 minutes. he kept emailing me from his PDA asking me shit, i kept telling him to just “come right on and drop your drawers to earn the prize” sadly, i didn’t succeed in convincing him.
