I did my shopping in the new enough bargain basement section.
power leather trip jacket and gloves cost me ~$100.
Since I only ride 10 miles a day, its not bad.
I’ll upgrade my gear when I upgrade my bike.
Someday I hope to make a fool of myself at track days.

Are the boots something you always wear willy or something you use only for track days and times you know you’ll be doing some “aggresive” riding?

doesn’t take a track day for a lady on a cell phone to blow a stop sign and almost kill you… ask me how i know.

i wear boots when im in my suit. not too often when in jeans. jbgti wears his boots everywhere and so does jabbu iirc. mine squeak really badly though, so i don’t wear them casually

I absolutely agree.
I am just wondering how often do you wear them while riding?
I currently wear high tops but I am planning on some smx-4’s this spring.

The wife has a pink Icon helmet, and 2 pink HJC’s (one full face lift)
and a pink Icon Jacket, and pink gauntlet gloves with carbon fiber knuckle protection (not sure of the brand)
NO SHE DOESNT RIDE IN SHORTS AND CROCKS SHE WAS POSING FOR THE PIC
I have 2 HJC helmets (one blue with a clear visor, one black with a black visor)
Icon Leather Jacket, and a Black no name Leather jacket.
and boots im not sure of the brand I would have to go look but they go almost up to my knee and are a pian to walk around in…
but better then:
but I cant WAIT for riding weather this is killing me…
Green one is my old bike, blue one is my current bike 🙂

lol @ the mechanics gloves.
Thats what I used to wear and wore in my MSF course.
They did not last me more than 1 hour of roofing, so I can’t image how they would have worked on the street.

ya they didnt hold up vary well but better then nothing:
now I wear gauntlet as does the wife…
most of the rash was from where the sleeve of the jacket rolled up and from the jeans shredding, but I was layered pritty thick that night thankfully. my Steeltoe boots shredded though, had to steal a set of willybeens sneakers to get home…

My setup:
Arai RX-7
Joe Rocket SuperMoto Leather Jacket
Joe Rocket SuperMoto Leather Pants
Alpinestars Supertech R Boots (always ride with these on, lose a toe, then think about riding in sneakers)
And last but not least, Alpinestars SP-2 Gloves

I always wore my boots, even when riding to class. super comfy, I was fine to walk all around UB in them. I can’t imagine riding without them.
plus the ssupport makes it a lot more comfortable to ride. not to mention you can show the squids your scraped up toe sliders if they get yappy

I have an old school chopper that I blew up last spring. then a 79 ironhead harley that I rode all summer and fall daily. completely rebuilding the chopper motor now.
