yea the powder color sand blasted aluminum is hard to spray on actual sand blasted aluminum

Its an odd color actually. Thats the same color as the MGB motor mounts. It has a little metal flake to it which is hard to show in the valve cover pic.

MPSoldier’s F150 is in the shop getting a 2.5" 304SS true dual exhaust right now.
Pie cuts FTW. Lots of them. I will count them when I get done. Anyone who doesnt understand the idea of piecuts here is the idea. First off price, its a balancing act of efficient welding/cutting VS still cutting and still welding pieces of msc mandrel bent sections. Example a straight section of 304ss is about $11 a foot, a 180 bend is $30+ a piece. If you buz up a box of pie cuts ahead of time, you can tape them up and lay out sections rather quickly. And if you are fast with a tig torch your hourly rate should be right next to a mandrel bend. but here is the benefit when the price point is close to using mandrel bent sections. Flexibility; Mandrel bends usually are bent at one or maybe 2 different center line radius, example this pipe came in 7" CLR. The pie cuts you see there are 4". Much tighter. And you can loosen up the CLR if you need to, just change the degrees and long side cut lengths. Also you can clock the pie’s to not only make a flat bend but you can curve it up or down too, and really snake a pipe under a car nice and tight. Lastly the bends aren’t choked down like a mandrel bend is. All mandrel bends get slightly ovalized and stretched. If you try to cut sections of them out to fit up a custom exhaust, you will have a heck of a time butting pieces up correctly. All these pie cuts are perfectly square cuts on the band saw, butting them up so tight you cant see daylight though them!
Starts off the OEM down pipes after the cats. X pipe is scratch build too, and has a healthy crossover section in the middle.
Then they flow into the Bullet mufflers and make their way out the back, following the frame rail.
I made the tips from scratch too. 3.5" 16ga, took a 1/4" solid rod and formed it around a 3" dia pipe with some heat and hammer action. Tigged it on the edge and flap wheeled the welds down smooth, to make a nice rolled edge look. Then tigged on a disk with a 2.5" ID cut out, and I will tack on the band-clamp after that. Then its getting powder coated flat black and it will be ready for install.
Still need to install 3 more hangers, finish the tips and PC them tonight, then button it up. :number1
