Those familiar with Troy will likely recognize the first location and understand why I didn’t stay long. Weird place to shoot, but the architecture is something else.
First time experimenting with a tripod for night shots here. Location isn’t anything special–I just kind of dove into the first empty lot with some light that I spotted. Think I need more exposure in most of these (ranged from 0.8s to 2.0s with ISO locked at 100). I like how this shade of silver seems to change pretty dramatically under different light. I’ll try to find a better spot and capture more color depth (interior especially) next time.
All criticism welcome. I have no ego. Trying to learn…

I dont know much about takin pictures but the night ones look underexposed, need to slow the shutter speed down. Also never take pictures with a pole going straight through the picture. Daytime pictures look good though

first shots are at Oakwood cemetery in troy(where uncle sam is buried)… go there at night. its crazy

Im pretty sure thats not the right cemetery. There are a few in Troy, thats not the one Uncle Sam is buried in. Thats right off Hoosic St, about 2m or so off to the left. Been there numerous times, pretty cool/creepy place.
Oakwood is more through the city, and tougher to find. The 1 time we went there we got hasseled by the cops and almost arrested! lol

If not for the shrub, second shot would be money. :number1
As constructive criticism, next time either try to get an angle where it’s out of sight, or just use the car to block it.

If it’s the one I’m thinking of (haven’t been since last summer) but it’s right off Rt. 40 - Take a left off Hoosick street at the first light and it’s a few blocks down?

That cemetary isn’t that creepy. Forest Park Cemetary or Pine Wood Cemetary as some people call it is a creepy cemetary. It’s also located in Troy too. If you google it, it’s considered one of the top 10 most haunted cemetaries.

A friend and I actually took a drive out that way yesterday, first time I’ve seen the place in years and it looked was less creepy during the day all mowed.

Yep, that’s Oakwood. I actually drove by Pinewoods last night. I was alone on the road and just cruising with the top down. There are very few streetlights in most parts and it is kinda creepy. RPI frat houses used to tie pledges to trees inside Pinewoods and leave them there overnight. Not sure if they still do that.
Thanks everyone for your input. I will definitely go for a slower shutter and better positioning next time. Was so busy screwing with the tripod that I forgot to try some night shots with the headlights on. :banghead

Very, very impressive, even for a quick job! :thumb
Only things there are left to be gone is the plate and window stickers and an application of a filter.
To the OP, try out some editing of your own. It’s best to get all the homework done while on the scene to not have to touch it up later, but everybody makes mistakes and that’s what photoshop is for.
Try some stuff out.
