Three-vehicle crash on Broadway kills Alden man
An Alden man critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Broadway in Alden died overnight in Erie County Medical Center, Erie County sheriff’s deputies said.
James Mrozik, 25, of Broadway died at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. He had been listed in critical condition with head injuries in ECMC, following the accident that occurred shortly after 4 p.m.
Another driver, Lawrence Meyer, 47, of Virginia Drive, Alden, was listed in good condition today in ECMC.
The third driver, Austin Jarmusz, 20, of Virginia Drive, Alden, was not hurt.
Deputies said Mrozik was eastbound on Broadway, traveling at a high rate of speed, when his vehicle collided with another speeding eastbound vehicle driven by Jarmusz. Mrozik’s vehicle then crossed the highway and collided with an oncoming westbound minivan driven by Meyer.
“We don’t know whether they were drag racing,” Chief of Patrol Dennis M. Rankin said today, noting that deputies are continuing their investigation into the crash.

:tup: to the completely innocent minivan driver being listed in good condition now. No pity for the idiots racing on public streets. Sucks that as a dad he wasn’t smart enough to think about his kids more than trying to prove how fast his turbo’d peice of shit was.
In an odd coincidence, one of my co-workers was telling me his best friend’s wife was in surgery this morning getting a kidney after suffering for many years. I’m wondering if the kidney she’s getting came from this dumbass.

I think I know that Austin kid.
James Mrozik sounds familiar. He’s around my age. I’ll have to check my yearbook.
Sounds like Mrozik was trying to pass around Jarmusz, Jarmusz probably hit the gas then the van was coming in the other lane, Mrozik tried to get over, hit Jarmusz, and corrected back into the oncoming lane.

I checked my yearbook. Mrozik graduated in 99. I didnt know him at all

Yeah I kind of remember seeing him. I don’t think I ever talked to him. Kind of sad when a person you went to school with dies and you have no idea who they are.
