It is not recognizing the discs anymore. I tried to formatting and crap, I think it is more severe than that. Anyone on here do it for cheap? My original PS3 is still working fine BTW (so you xbox humpers can blow me), this was a free PS3 from someone who abused it. ---

I think you’re outta luck Jack, unless you maybe replace the drive. Same thing happened to me, luckily I was able to return it to target and get a new one. ---

I checked some of the forums, for about 20 minutes. All of the stuff I saw on there was software crap, I think this is a hardware problem. I’m thinking replacement or cleaning of the drive itself is the only option. Right now I’m just using it to stream media. I’ll try Ogie’s, hopefully they can help. ---

I may have a spare PS3 drive. My brothers PS3 took a shit and he took it apart. I don’t know what his plans are for it, let me know if you think you’ll need it. ---

you need a new laser but its easier to just replace the drive. itll take all of 25 min and removing 4-8 screws. ---
