criminal law for the state of: New York

MAIN QUESTION(S): Is a “Violation” a “Criminal Offense”? Is a “Violation” a “Criminal Misconduct”?

Background info/Basis for question:  
240.20 Disorderly Conduct (disposition: conditional discharge), is a violation in the State of New York. **A Violation is not a crime**.
