I can definitely say that my MacBook has burned my leg through my jeans before because the battery got so hot. I moved it and looked at my leg and I had a huge red blotchy area about the size of my outstretched hand. It stayed very red and blotchy for almost a week. Now I never let it actually sit on my lap… I put a blanket (or two) or a book between it and I.

Well they did sue themselves once. :lol:
New laptops run way too hot, it’s amazing how many complaints you hear about that with laptops in general nowadays.

There is a huge marketing push to call them notebooks and not laptops since they run hot now more than ever,
I bought a Targus Chill Mat for my laptop and it makes a world of difference.
The new notebooks have a ton of technology in a small package. Faster running, hard drive spinning faster, etc.
Think of it as a fat girl in spandex. She’s going to get hot fast.
I do find it funny that Dell and Apple have had recalls for Sony batteries, but Sony hasn’t had a recall for their Sony batteries. Maybe Dell makes their batteries 🙂

Macbook or macbook pro? My macbook has been running at a cool 52 degrees celsius since updating it.

This is all interesting to me, as I got my wife a 12" Powerbook G4, and according to this:
