# sort of raced an s2000 tonight

I was riding through the south hills somewhere and saw these HID’s coming up behind so I slowed down to let him catch up. It was a silver S2000 with the top down. We were crusing at about 35MPH and I was in 3rd gear so it would rumble a little. We got side by side and I kept it like that waiting for him to go. The we caught a redlight. So, just for kicks, I roll down the window and say “is that thing pretty fast?”
He just smiles and says that thing sounds pretty good, this is fast, but I don’t think I have anything for you"
Just then the light turns green and he takes off catching me off guard. So I let the clutch out and get moving before I punch it (is that technically roll racing?) 😃
By the time I got on it he was about 2 lengths ahead, by 50 I was about 5 ahead and I shut down (40MPH speed limit)
The guy was in his 50’s and was pretty cool. He came passed me and waved and I gave him the :bigthumb:

When are you putting a bigger cam in your car. Your car was Mikes old car wasn’t it? Did you buy it at C Harper’s with 4000 miles on it.

:hsdance: that’s the car. I met him at the track one day. His girlfriend told me she liked the black one better. :bigthumb:
Bigger cam when I get a good deal on one, have enough $$$ for valve springs, and don’t still owe Brian money. :redface:

You have a TR220/220 in your car now. I think you have 918’s(springs) too.

no wonder why roland was crackin off 13.1’s last year. To my 13.2’s (lid only, at the time) 🙂 I knew it wasn’t beginners luck 🙂

All I had was a lid and catback and my second trip ever to the track. I really never felt or heard the cam until I did the headers and intake.

it still was doing its job… just not getting the exhaust gases out quick enough yet

With long tubes and high flow cat’s Mikey ran 12.54@112 an drag radials.

yeah, but the PCM was with the mods he had right? I just had a lid and catback so wouldn’t the PCM actually hurt my times without the right mods?

im betting the pcm, had you tuned for that cam mainly. Headers are mainly a bolt on, and do not require much tuning, unless you want to get picky

Now if I don’t go faster than that I will be embarrassed by my lack of driving skill cause I have a LS6 intake too. :embarass:

my buddies 02 hawk ran a 12.02 with qtp long tubes 410 and stickies
