# Speeding ticket Blitz in the Burgh

I got this in an email don’t know how true it is but just thought i let everyone see,
The Rendell administration has yet another way to nip at
our pocketbook. In addition to the local parking tax and pour tax. Where
does it end?
Subject: Speeding ticket Blitz in the Burgh
Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2008 02:33:42 +0000
Starting today, Pennsylvania will launch a 30 day speeding
ticket frenzy.
The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be
generated in speeding tickets. 1 million will go to pay state
troopers’ overtime. There will be 50 state troopers on duty at all times
patrolling the 9 main intersections and highways. They are the following:
I-279 north and south
I-376 east and west
I-76 east and west
I-80 east and west
I-79 north and south
I-70 east and west
PA-60
PA-66
US-22
5 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state
trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 to
20 minutes. They have issued 30 brand new unmarked Dodge Charger
Police cruisers and are bringing in all of their part timers on full time. If
you work in western Pennsylvani a, you will probably take one of these
highways. It’s up to you how fast you are going when they clock you.
KDKA and WDVE confirmed all of this. So be safe and don’t
forget speeding tickets are on you. Driving Ticket fine increase in PA:
Starting on August 15th, the price of a ticket for
violation of PA Law 39:3-29 (failure to show your driver’s license,
registration, or insurance card at the time you are stopped) is going from
$44.00 to $173.00.
Please make sure your vehicles have the proper documents
in them. If you jump in the car to run to the store and forget your
wallet with your license in it and you are stopped… Oh well… you just
spent $173.
And the fine for not having al l three documents is $519!!!

this could be true im not sure though… but i have recently seen atleast 5 unmarked cars on the road this past week.i didnt notice any chargers they were all crown vics.

I did hear something about this and have seen alot of unmarked police cars around (more then usual) Ill have to talk to Kip.

Wow, Good thing they don’t have I-79 East to west
I-80 North to South 22 North to south and The favorable I-70 North to South. Cops are always on these roads :scared:
I wouldn’t leave my house, The toll booths on Rt.65 are always a bitch too.

even though it is a hoax, you have 72 hours to present proof of insurance, registration, and driver license. Just a heads up. They can cite you but the citation will be void if you prove your document.

No cop ever was a dick to me about not having a physical license. I never carried a license till i got my CDL.
I also knew my # off hand too 🤣 🤣 🤣

There were sure were no cops out on 279 north or south or 22/30 on saturday
