Pontiac’s website says the Solstice GTX is powered by a 260hp turbocharged Ecotec 4cyl. :dunno:

ok i was wrong then. i thought i heard it was suppose to be 300 booo to 260. yay to turbo and being able to make it 300 easily then :bigthumb:

The supercharged on was the one “Suppose to be making 300” but its whatever I don’t like them.

260 hp ina turbo 4 banger + rwd = the win good car well built and in 2 years im picking up a n/a for a city beater !! cheap small to park and good gasmillage

Yah that would be my dad. Cars slow. He wants to wait for the new GXP (turbo 2.0 sols) to come out. Cars are badass just really lacking in the balls department. Handling is amazing though.

I think they are really gay and a dime a dozen, they are super slow, I drove a silver one at our local GM dealer, my wholesale parts manager said, lets take it for a ride… so why say no? If I had to take any of these cars it would be the sky, looks a hell of a lot better than the solstice. A turbo sky would be a cool car… for my mom.

In that they share basically nothing mechanically and have no resemblance at all I’d say: yes it’s a cheaper version. Hahaha.
Anyway, I have a buddy that got rid of his RX8 daily driver for a Solstice. The RX8 was only getting him low teens mpg so it didn’t make too much sense. The Solstice is actually a very nice driving car. Underpowered, but well balanced and toss-able. It should be fun at the AutoX.
That being said, would I buy one? No. Am I trying to talk the GF into getting a Sky? Yes.
