# spysweeper disabling internet

for the past 2 days anytime i open internet explorer it would not connect. i ran a windows diagnostic and it says dns failure. so i call my internet company to see if they can help and the guy had me do a couple things and told me it could be one of my programs and asked which ones i have. i told him all of them. he said disabling them could make it work. so i said ok ill try and said thanks and bye. so i go into one program i have (spysweeper) and disable internet communication ( blocks communication from your computer to websites related to potentially unwanted programs). then i opened my web browser and it works again. what can cause this to happen ?? ive had this program for ever and it has not done this yet. also i feel unprotected not having this certain internet sheild running. should i get another program ?
cliffs : i was connected to the internet but anytime i would open web browser it wouldnt connect to the sites. disabled a websheild in spysweeper and it works again. what could cause this to happen b/c ive had this program for ever. also iam i unprotected b/c i do not have this sheild. should i get another program ?

most people dont get the program update for spysweeper…
go into the options… hit update… it will load a webpage…
download the update… close spysweeper that is currently running before installing the update.

im not being a dick but could you explain a little more… its just weird b/c ive been running this program for so long probly 2+ years with not problems. how ever i did a couple microsoft updates.

hmm when i do that it says unable to establish connection please go to web browser to check for updates

also my subscription w/ spysweeper has been inactive for a while but it still lets me perform sweeps and let me use the sheilds

side note, i hate firefox, not sure why people think its the anwser, its buggy as shit.
I dont like spysweeper, I had it as a factory instal. I currently use spybot, tho i dont think it ever finds anything.

stuff not working from time to time, border issues on certain websites, like they’d looked shifted, when they were fine in IE, little things.
Also the profiles, not me, but a friend had some error and had to make a new profile, was complaining about losing all kinds of saved links ect.
I’m a hardcore IE guy, i wouldnt defend it as great or anything, Just what I like.
