I still maintain that not gearing up has nothing to do with squid factors. Squids are new inexpierienced riders who act otherwise annd wreck becuase of it generally… Tons of awesome riders around here just dont like gear and would rather risk it and be comfortable. Example: alot of the 518 stunt crew dont wear full gear when theyre messigna round in parking lots doing wheelies endos skids and the like but they certainly arent squids ---

I wear no gear except for gloves and a helmet. ---

It’s always a personal choice whether to wear gear or not, so is choosing what bike you will start on. However choices of not wearing gear are not really rational ones and show a level of immaturity. Squid A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. **Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible.** This fact compounds intself with the fact that they engage in ‘extreem riding’–performing wheelies and stoppies in public areas. Squids wreck alot. Derived from ‘squirly kid’ ‘Squid’ is a contraction of “Squirrelly Kid”, and comes from So Cal racers who were also involved in the Surfer culture. Though the term is now widely used to describe street riders of questionable cornering skill, questionable judgement in demonstrations of horsepower and braking, questionable judgement in the protective clothing worn, and very questionable judgement in his/her friends, the meaning was actually developed at the racetrack. * * * At this point in time the term is really thrown around a lot, just like Ricer is for the automotive crowd, it might not always be fitting. Generally speaking anybody who gets on a race replica motorcycle wearing no other gear then a helmet is considered a squid, no matter of how abilities. Also just because somebody is good at stunting it doesn’t give them a free pass to wear no gear, accidents happen. ---

Any demonstration of HP while not wearing gear isn’t using judgment, usually any demonstration at all isn’t logical. ---

LOLLLL never drove stick beeping the horn tryna be funny whewwwwwwwwwwww what makes them do that? this aint the first time i seen some idiot do that, go mad slow then outta no where romp it and flip over… why the fuck do they do that? anyways back to the squid thing… The fact im going slow as hell in the turns vlad like I said was cuz im still learning, no shame in that… im not willing to push it and fuck up right now I have to speed on the straights to catch up to you guys hitting the turns double the speed limit so apparently that makes me a squid, but whatever to me, its just riding safe ---
