# SR head making a loose bolt or bearing noise

Hey guys i have an sr20 redtop, i got this motor about 1000km so theres probably 60-80 k on it its this kind of rattle but sounds more like a bolt is bouncing around under the valve cover on the driver side its not a consistent sound and it doesnt get any worse as the rpm go up, also pulled spark plugs out 1 at a time the noise never changed

anyone heard of this before ???

…Take 10 minutes and pull your valve cover off… If there’s a serious problem I’m sure it’ll stare you in the face…

Is it a clicking? Is it a knocking? Is it a rattling like a timing chain maybe? Is it happening at a regular frequency?

I would say if it changes with RPM it’s valvetrain related, pull your valve cover off and look.

prob a lifter sr’s have hydrolic lifters if they get air bubbles in them they tic
