We needed a microwave a year or two ago so of course I bought a 1250 watt microwave that can reheat a whole dinner in under a minute and has room to fit a turkey. If you’re asking yourself why I needed such a bear of a microwave, your BBC (Blood Bacon Content) is probably getting low. My wife had a cow when she saw it and has always complained about how big it is. She also claims she can feel the radiation when it’s on. Several times I caught her pushing it against the wall to get it as far back on it’s shelf as possible. I insisted that if she kept doing that, the cord would break. This is probably why she kept doing it. A few days ago it got to the point where I was the only one that could wiggle the power cord the right way to make it work. This is the section of wire getting mashed into the wall. I cut it out and tested the rest of the wire which checked out fine. This section included the built in stress relief that locked into the case, so I made my own later. ![http://innovativetuningdl.com/temp/microwaveFix/DamagedChord.jpg](http://innovativetuningdl.com/temp/microwaveFix/DamagedChord.jpg) After soldering the wires back together and heat shrinking them I had to come up with a stress relief so my wife doesn’t pull the cord and yank the leads right off the terminals. After conferring with Matt, I zip tied the wires to the chassis. ![http://innovativetuningdl.com/temp/microwaveFix/Inside.jpg](http://innovativetuningdl.com/temp/microwaveFix/Inside.jpg) I protected the portion of the cord at the opening of the case from abrasion with a thick layer of electrical tape. Lastly, I needed something to keep the cord from getting damaged when the microwave was shoved back against the wall in the future. oh man, she is going to be pissed you made the cage stick out further than the hump thing on the back. it seemed like the problem was the hard stress relief, without it the cord can just bend within the 1" or so the hump provides. I still give it a +1 ---
