# Stand Alone system

Hey guys,
I am looking for a stand alone system for an KA S13, Do you have any recommendations?
The only thing I;ve see so far is the AEM Plug and Play ECU replacement.
Any comments would be appreciated.

why would you want stand alone un-less you are going nuts with mods it’s not worth it. but if you do want one i reccomend S.D.S like the em4 the price is awsome and its one of the easiest systems to tune on the market. however there alot more out there electromotoive tec3, motec, haltec, ect ect

If you’re looking for cheap then go with megasquirt.
If money isn’t an issue go with the AEM EMS it’s an awesome unit.
I’ve tuned with them many times at Neetronics.

Only go with the aem if you know what you are doing with standalone. There are expert tuners that think that thing is confusing. Plus word on the street is that it has ‘bugs’. I am in the midst of installing Haltech. That system has a tone of street usable features and it won’t cost you near the amount as ems.

A bunch of Silvia guys down in Australia and NZ swear by Apex’i PowerFC. Then again, these are completely different markets, and we might have something they don’t have, and vice versa. Even though I highly doubt that Canada would ever have something more than another country :lol:

The AEM EMS is supposed to be the best one out there.
I have heard good things about the TEC III too.
