Throwing this up before I go do a distributor and pay through the nose for a new piece. I know a lot of you guys have random odds and ends and scrap shit lying around, otherwise I would not bother. Looking for… Plate. Can be either Carbon Steel (A-36 or other, really doesn’t matter)… Or any grade Aluminum. I’m not paying for stainless in this size… so forget that. Somewhere between 3’x3’ and 5’x8’ 1/4"-1" thick. The size I’m buying (to give you an idea) on Thurs/Fri if nobody has anything here, would be a 36"x72"x1/2" @ $150. Should be $.41/lb. Obviously much more $/lb for Al. If you can beat it, be my guest and my money is yours. ---

Freeman something or other (forgot the name, have the business card) was the one that had the cheapest that i found. Didn’t call there though. lemme look it up Klein steel? # # Sheet & Plate – 4’ x 8’ to 6’ x 12’ oucccchhhh big. but will work ---

Your best bet is to stop in there and take a look around for yourself, they are lazy fucks when it comes to doing something for a customer unless they’re there with cash in hand. ---

That’s the majority of my problem… Since I get out of work at 3:30, and most places are closed by 4… some are closed at 5. ---

WTF are you building with something .25-1.00tk? I can see .25 for alot of common stuff, but .5-1.00tk is heavy duty! ---

I was in today right before 4, and some mean ass bitch took care of me. But I’ll be by tomorrow, 12:15 she told me to come. I really wanted some plate that looked about 1 1/2"-2" thick, and was maybe 4’x8’, but she was like well why do you need that? what do you need that for? you can get it but then that means we’ll have to dig it out. Is king kong going to sit on this table? So I was like oh fuck you, just get me this tiny ass piece. looked maybe 3/4" or 1/2"… kinda nasty, but at $.30/lb I’m not going to complain. Told her I wanted some pipe that I saw on the way out too, not sure if she listened to me or not. Fuck she was mean. Just hope it’s good enough. Putting some train tracks under it for good measure anyway. ---

Got it today. I showed up, and the owner (I guess), told me that I was picking up the 1 1/2" piece… I was like errr nooo, she said it would’ve been a bit of work to get that out. I would’ve brought a flatbed then -.- Not a SUV. 😛 Thanks a bunch for the recommend \<3 Ended up with a 1" 44"x44" table. Going to throw train tracks under it for good measure, and call it a day.
