Called the local SPCA and they can’t do crap. They did point me to a local group that handles feral cats by fixing them but I would be surprised if they do it for free…they didn’t answer so I’ll call back later.

The town is pretty small but my wife actually just got a job running the summer rec program so next time she’s in the office for something I’ll have her bring it up…from the research I’ve done most towns don’t do anything though.

I think I might set up the scarecrow sprinkler I have in a better spot even though I’ll have to turn it off when we leave which sorta defeats the purpose. Hopefully with it on all night and me taking shots at them with a BB gun it’ll help get it through their heads that it’s not a fun yard to be in.

After that, and if that one agency can’t help me, I’m really not sure what I can do. I guess I’ll talk to the crazy cat guy (the closer of the two weirdos) and see if he can stop doing something. At the same time, I don’t really want to draw attention to myself in case I do have to “escalate” the measures.

Not one person has said antifreeze until now? This will kill most animals that go through your yard.

So the animal control officer called me back and holy shit is she a crazy old lady. She also only deals with dogs for the most part.

She knew the exact lady I was talking about and once a few years back she said she “cleaned her out” by taking the cats and letting him lose in her own barn…which she also said she has a lot of coyotes to keep them thinned out by her. She said she “wasn’t going to get involved with that mess again” as the cat lady was pretty pissed after she found out her cats weren’t being looked after carefully enough. She then suggested that I go the trap and release them somewhere else route even though the SPCA said that if someone said they owned the cat and found out I did that I could be in trouble…which it sounds like the crazy cat lady would do.

And just to make it clear, with all the jokes and my growing frustration with these pests, I’m still a long ways away from shooting (to kill or seriously harm) or poisoning them.

Dude. You call the town. You bitch at them. Your fat fucking ass cat lady neighbor is causing a shit storm and an infestation of cats is living next door. It is a health risk. Period.

Fuck the SPCA.
Fuck “higher measures”

As far as those talking about how you would handle it. You **personally** won’t be able to anything about it. That person won’t give two shits about your problem.

This is why you pay taxes for the township to handle these situations. Your neighbor does not have to be your friend. If they didn’t cause shit there would be no shit. Not your problem if you inconveniece them. Clearly she doesn’t give a shit about your yard/house/dogs.

If the town doesn’t step in in 48 hours…call the Police.

This is not hard. If you still have cats a week from now it will be “your fault” for not picking up the phone EVERY DAY.

Classic tactic of “they don’t give a fuck…” and you DEFINITELY don’t want to be trapping cats. I forsee lawsuits.

It is not your job. Keep bitching.

I’m a firm believer in everything you’re saying but this is a small town and my wife just picked up a job with the village (same office and workers as the town) for running their summer rec program so I can’t make too many waves.

I’m going to see if she’ll talk to someone next time shes’ in the office though…maybe that’ll help. I also am close friends with some cops so I can see the laws behind this shit and what will happen depending on what actions I take. The lady was a dog warden mainly but I agree it was a case of I don’t give a fuck and here is the politically incorrect way to do it as I won’t be getting in trouble when shit goes down.

Right now I’m hoping this barncat outreach program crap will pull through…even if I have to pay a couple hundred bucks to get them here to help solve the problem I’m in. And…maybe this community isn’t as shitty as I think and will pull together if it costs more.

Scarecrow sprinkler + ^that and you wouldn’t have to turn it off when you leave.

That might work and I could hook it right to my main hose feed so it wouldn’t look hideous like that thing he made. Only problem is the hose would hold some residual pressure even after shutting it off.

You can borrow my cat for a couple days. My neighbors cats used to linger in my yard. He fixed that problem pretty quickly.
