NHRA is just butt hurt that Street Outlaws gets millions of viewers while their televised races get postponed for tennis as they continue to lose viewers.

I still don’t think the 9-10 spot cars are near that fast. There are a bunch of drag cars locally that run 4.5 class. Its just a matter of getting some of them to run on the street which most won’t

Well he went 4.6 with tries half the size of what he usually runs so I would imagine the car is dialed back also.

First off the index class locally is 4.70 with pretty much no rules they’re 100% race cars and no restrictions on weight/tire/etc and no where near street cars.
The 275 drag radial record at this point is 4.25ish?
So knocking off a 4.60 his first time out on a drag radial is pretty impressive im sure its significantly quicker with twice the amount of tire…I agree the 8-10 cars on the street outlaws list are somewhere in the 9s but to compete with the top 5 I agree with that theblue said about bringing a 6sec car and normally when those guys go out of town for the show they only bring the top 5.

So as much as the show is run on blocked off roads…I don’t think the NHRA is kidding themselves I mean they were doing this on the street way before the TV show this just moved it into the public.
I wouldn’t expect the discovery channel to accept all the liability of doing this on open roads.
Normally events they do like cash days are run on normal streets.
