I have a 04 wrx and i have no complaints about it at all. I use it as a daily driver and have light mods done to it, and it is still great for its purpose. (I have perrin downpipe, Blitz nur spec catback, TurboXS UTEC, Forge Recirc BPV…) Only downside to it in my situation is the insurance, i get crushed every month, but its all good. Ive only had it since summer so i havent gotten alot of time in the snow, but when i did i can tell you it handled when i wanted it too, and was able to have fun when i wanted. Any questions feel free to ask. P.S. to the OP, Im pretty sure i see you around all the time mainly around caste village…

Yea blue, but no stickers. Just regular looking with sti hood scoop and 20%tint.

i agree. i dont see the point of turning a base neon into a ‘srt4’ if you have 14000 or whatever to spend in the first place. seems like alot of time/effort/money to not really make any progress

1. Power to weight would own your WS6 (more then likely destroy you with a bottle of nitrous
2. It would just be too funny to blow by mainly stock fbodys and shit with a neon…
I think of the neon as a big go kart…

what advantage does your neon have over a stock srt-4 power to weight ratio wise? arent they roughly the same weight? you have to admit that you are doing a lot of work, and spending a lot of money just to get your neon to the level of a stock srt-4. you dont think that an equal investment into the wrx would allow for a much more capable “gokart”?
also…
arent ws6’s equipt with some sort of extra suspension? i doubt your neon would much surpass the handling of your DD wrx, much less a ws6. just my opinion though.
i understand that your car is your car and you love it and that’s great… but you have to admit there are some better platforms out there.

I’m not going to argue what’s better, but here’s some info:

It’s not even close. A 1st gen coupe like his is about 2500lbs or so. The SRT-4 is 2900+. It’s about like the difference between a GC and a GD (comparing an early impreza to a new one for the non subaru types reading this).

It wouldn’t be that terribly expensive to get an early neon like that to the level of a stock SRT. Most of the SRT-4 engine parts are really cheap.

my point made,
If i really wanted to, with about 3 grand or so and stripping the interior to nothing the RT would more then likely run 12’s all motor easy.
maybe low to mid 11’s with spray i would think, I’ve seen it done.
and as for people who swap the Srt4 motor in the 1st gen neon, I’ve seen videos and heard from many people that the srt4 is no match for the srt swapped 1stgen.

What is with all the comment aimed at his car and WS.6 …nobody said anything about a WS.6. Pople are just making a point there are better platforms to put $ into…and considering that style Neon looks like shit anyways. Also for me at least if a neon “blow by me” I would seriosly not give one shit at all…and BTW you sound like a ricer from 1999

wow, how did i miss this…i forgot about this thread .
anyways, i was just saying that it just seems like you are taking the long road to aquire srt4 performance with a normal neon, i just didnt see the point. i just said if you have alittle cash at your disposal there might be better cars to put that money towards.
if ‘owning’ my ws6 is something you plan to accomplish with your car, then more power to you. we live 5 mins away from each other, so when you feel the need to prove your point, then let me know.

Buy a damn used 04 SRT for cheap and be over with it.Hell there was an 03 for sale with S2 for 10k on here a while ago(Weaves)
