Well I got my stuff back from Jeff at Century Powder Coating a couple of days ago. (Thanks again Jeff for the amazing quality of work that you and your dad did for me).
For anyone who is looking for powder coating services…look no further. Give Jeff a call. You’ll be very very happy with the result.
Ok now for the good stuff…
It’s actually a Caterpiller/Gold colour, but more gold in real life. Bings aluminum bushings pounded in.
Close-up of bushing.
Spindle with Energy Suspension bushings installed.
All the arms and spindles. The black is also powder coating.
New ball joints installed.
New wheel bearings. Why go through all this and not do it properly? 8)
The whole mess assembled together. I don’t want to use it, it’s too nice looking.

Who else is running these colours?
It was originally suppose to be purple instead of black to match the JIC coils on the car, but things worked out better with black.

Excellent work… but why didn’t you get new hardware??? All that nice powder coating beauty but you kept the rusty bolts?

I have got new camber bolts, and the rest of the bolts will be getting re-chromed.
The diff is just painted with some kind of rust paint…it turned out better than I thought it would.

if it were me i would grab some engine paint and paint the diff cover in high
gloss black to try and match the arms. do the same for the axles as well.
the frame and arms look great but the diff cover makes the whole job look a
little incomplete. my $0.02.
edit- did you acid dip all the parts or sandblast them?

I was going to do the cover and probably still will, I just haven’t got around to it yet. It’s been a little cold to paint properly. The axles are painted already to match.
It was sandblasted/steel-shot by Jeff at Century Powder Coating.

The price for the powder coating or all the poly/alum bushings, bearings, and ball joints combined?
For the powder coating alone, including sand blasting…$195.
New wheel bearings $135 a piece.
Ball joints $35 a piece. (I should’ve got Moog ones with grease nipples on the bottom.)
Bushings $140. (Master kit)
Bings alum. bushings $75
Total-$750
Ouch I didn’t realize how fast it added up for all this…oh well. Worth every penny in my eyes.

I’d have to agree… being that the vehicle is RWD and everything in the rear end has been replaced and is now brand new, the handling of the vehicle will greatly improve since theirs no room for “play” in any of the hardware.
Since the wheel bearings are also brand new you might even notice a tiny increase in fuel milage as the bearings will spin easier/quicker so the car should roll easier/smoother.
Glad to hear that you are pleased with the outcome/finish thou Nick and I was shocked to see that you’ve already got it back together and everything pressed in since you only picked it up thursday, you must have been pretty busy 😉
