Well. Im still a stupid incomedent fuck of a sixteen year old and I’m still not sure what to do. I like the idea of a supercharger because it would be easy to stick in my 1990 240. Anyone know who makes one?

no one as of current… there is some babble on the [KA-t.org](http://KA-t.org) of a custom that you get some ideas off of… personally it cool and all but if you going to do it, just turbo it… Easier.

unless you want to do both… not sure where i saw the picture of that… but its scary

There is a kit that uses the X Terra SC, IIRC. I think it was on NICO.

it was a…drum roll… Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 they supercharged and then twin incremental charged the thing. Prolly cost a mint cause of all the custom BS they had to do. I am not sure if they were able to fit it into the car. Check youtube i think thats where i saw it.

I respect your choice to want to be different,

you’re 16, the concept of efficiency has’nt quite come to conclusions in your mind.

supercharging will be making yourself problems,

turbo charging is utilising exaust, to produce “boost”,

rather than utilising a belt to produce “boost”

belt boosting takes longer to spool up. exause is there no matter what,

utilising the waste is better.

I’ono.

do whatever you want.

but, just keep in mind what’s going to get you places faster.

See I always thought superchargers were more responsive at lower RPM, but just don’t make as much peak power. Can someone confirm?

PS. You’re post made no sense.

HMM SUPERCHARGer is much more responsive than turbo thats the entire point of being belt driven …ur motor spins u got boost.Turbo has to have enough exhaust gasses to spool, thats why you lag 1st.
But turbo is much easier to work with, u got wastegate to regulate pressure .Supercharger you need to size pullies to get xpsi boost.
Turbo is rebuildable and more universall t3 flange fits t3/4’s etc , supercharger is non rebuildable as well as for a specific kit you use a "specific “blower” other wise you have to remount and resize pullies.
Main purpose of supercharger’s was to get vehicle moving right of the line and have good response in lower powerband. Once the car/truck is rolling than motor just breathes n/a. BUT properly sized turbo , or VGT’s or even sequantial will be more beneficial in most vehicles. Thats why alot of manufactorers rather use turbochares for forced induction just more universal.
But its up 2 u if u wanna spend 200 hours designing and sizing ur supercharger kit , or 3 hours bolting on a turbo kit.

Again, not always true. It all depends on the type of blower, roots, centrifugal, and what size of turbo. Take a 1.8T out of something like a golf, and then a big centrifugal blower for something like a 350Z. I will guarentee you the golf will reach it’s boost threshold sooner than the 350Z.

But as a generalization yes.

But to the thread starter, Yes it can be done, It is not cost effective unless you own a machine/welding shop. It is also puttting the boost were it is the most effective at destroying the KA. Under heavy load at low RPM. Ask Flavio about this, or anyone on KA-T

Possible=Yes, anything is possible, including cows running.
Realistic=No

Superchargers can be rebuilt, but turbo is easier to do, cheaper to do and better to do in my opinion.

i think the whole point of supercharger is low end torque and off-the-line go. there is never any question as to what rpm the SC will spool, it will always be the same. way less efficient, (robbing crank power to make boost, while turbo utilizes exhaust flow) though.

turbo spool has a billion more factors than SC. but personally i think supercharging a 4 cylinder is not worth it.

you’ll be way happier with a turbo KA, and still make all that torque you want.

also - SC’s are forced to spool, making your car a gas guzzler… with a turbo you can drive in vacuum all day and get killer mileage.

Supercharger = It takes power to make power, so small displacements are better off going turbo.
