taking a very well designed caddy engine, suprcharging it and making 520 hp in the process is pointless ?

and having it look sort of like an old hemi …

what part is pointless ?

DOHC V8s are pretty big in general. Look at the Ford 4.6 DOHC. Much bigger than a 5.0

no more pics … its just the lead pic to a norhtstar performance artical found here

> **[How-To - Car Improvement | DIY Cars | Car Work | Car Care](https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/)**
>
> At the MotorTrend How-To section, you’ll learn how to perform the car improvements you want to do, thanks to DIY knowledge on how-to make an engine more powerful, improve a suspension, have brakes stop better, and much, much more.

note from the artical, norhtstar connecting rods are only good for 7 psi, after that you have to upgrade

the article goes to say you can get 2k horsepower if you want, with 2 giant turbos and a IC. and a lot of other stuff. 85 injectors, twin 4 barrel throttle bodys and that holley controller

Dude if you want 400 WHP + out of a northstar plan on spending atleast $4000+ and good luck finding proper tuning. They are VERY expenisve to mod. Probably one of the single most expensive engines to mod becuase so little number of people do that there is little to no after market for them. Almost anything you can get for them will have to be custom made and that gets really pricey really quick. Then your going to be breaking other stuff once your putting down more power. Like everyone said spend $600 get a proper N2O kit and there ya go 100 Hp at the touch of a button.

but to get that 100hp, how long will my engine last under those conditions?
