> Because safety is such a concern for small cars in particular, we have designed the Tango around a roll cage that meets or exceeds both SCCA and NHRA regulations. These are racing organizations that specify cage design to protect the occupants of cars crashing at over 200 mph. In addition, the extremely high strength-to-surface area ratio of a steel roll cage allows superb visibility from within the Tango. Rollover too is a great danger for many vehicles. The Tango, being so narrow, would look to the layman’s eye to be unstable. But in fact, the Tango has stability that exceeds that of most sport cars.

> As far as performance goes, the Tango is no slouch. Since electric cars–especially small ones–are generally thought to be slow and weak performers we set out to blow some minds by designing the Tango to accelerate through the standing 1/4 mile in 12 seconds at over 120 mph and travel from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds.

Too bad it’s over $100k and not even fully assembled…

Definitely needs a few more years to mature and come down in price.

So occupaints are going to wear a 5 point harness and a head and neck restraint system to account for the high g-loads, that lead to internal injuries, resulting from vehicles with little to no energy assorbing crash zones?

> ```
> Tandem Sparco Roadster bucket seats with attached 4-point harness structures.

I guess so, doubt they will be proper belts though. Yup; non stretching passenger car belts.

and…

> up to 24 miles per charge,

that is the worst of any EV that I know of.

I’m sketchy on this thing. I don’t care how good the roll cage is, being in an impact in a car that small is going to be painful. Whar part of this car is going to absorb energy?

3pt harness? :meh: They need to post a lot more details before they convince me. I gotta side with Mr. Z on this one, at least for now.

Their website is sparse. Lots of marketing and sales crap, no hard data.

Hammacher Schlemmer catalogue + $108,000 + 24 mile range = Toy for the rich.

Who else would spend $108,000 to save a little gas?

This car has no real use, it is just a toy.
It would be fun though.
