called the next day and apologized because she was having a bad day

My .02…
The trick is to work at a place that has semi intelligent users. I have done support for longer than most of you have been alive. (Insert old jokes here).
I worked at a company for 6 years that delivered stock quotes via satellite to your PC before the internet became main stream. That group of users were educated and pretty tech savvy.
I worked at the International Monetary Fund in DC supporting Economists for 6.
I’ve been where I am now at a law firm for 7 years now although I haven’t done support in about a year.
It also takes a patient person to do this kind of work as well. In 19 years, I have only hung up twice on a user. That was because they crossed a line with me.
It’s certainly not for everyone but it has been a good career for me…
