You could still flood it tonight and be safe with tonight’s lows in the high teens. I’d be worried about trying to flood it tomorrow night with a low of just 29. Might not set up right by noon Saturday.

I wish that this was last weekend. I am probably going to be in the hospital with a new baby on Saturday… Can’t exactly skip that for ice antics and beers.

Damn good turnout, damn good time
So, yesterday, my friend Glen and I finished trying to prep and smooth things. It went pretty well, but damn it was warm and sloppy out there.
So, got done with that, came in. Made a bit of dinner, and started mixing drinks…a lot of drinks. After a few of those, at about 1am, we decided to try it out.
Anyway, after a somewhat painful wakeup Saturday morning, folks showed up, and we started.
My wife bought us a mascot
Made some black and tans

For those who weren’t there…
Friends Jen and Hartmut (the couple on the left here in the beginning) completely dominated all day. Seriously, no losses in like two hours. Friend Andy and I stepped in. Won the first game, lost the second game. This was the rubber match. Tied on the final set of throws. Considering how wavy the ice was, one of the scoring rules was that if you stayed upright, that was a bonus point. I threw a 2 upright. Jen bounced me into a 3, giving me a 4 point throw that ultimately won the game, and match.
Yeah yeah, exciting as hell, I know.

Thanks for coming out. Definitely turned out better than I was imagining. And yeah, went out yesterday to gather jugs. It was a gruesome scene. Oh, and the ice yesterday was treacherous. There would have been minor tragedy going on if we did it that day.

I actually had every intention of going, but wound up having some fun on some different ice. Apparently the water is 450 feet deep where my car was parked. :eek:
