So I am thinking I might spread the love and make a few custom v-mount setups for people who want them. This is what I am thinking

Custom IC pipes
Custom IC mounting
Custom Rad pipes
Custom Rad mounting
Custom Ducting for Rad and IC with air intake separated for each
Fan for IC

Cut bumper (if you want)
Cut Impact bar (if you want)

Also there is a possibility that I might make a single or dual vented hood like mine, and include it in the setup, or make it an optional item for additional cost.

Everything is mig welded, grinded, tested for leaks etc.

I have learned a ton from finishing my v-mount setup, and I think I could totally improve my design and build it for others.

In terms of specifications, I guarentee that the cooling is beyond what you have ever imagned. Running city I dont use fans at all and have never gone above 2bars on stock temp gauge or 165F on temp gauge. At speeds of 100kmph it runs approx 140F and 130kmph it runs approx 110F or just below (that is right BELOW) the 0 bar on stock gauge. This is with my setup only partially complete.

In terms of response you will most definatly notice a large increas in boost RPM response. Right now I am looking at full boost at approx 2600, 2700rpm without tuning, or completed ducting etc. I believe that once complete, with tuning full boost should be around 2400rpm. You will also still manage to retain the cold air you are getting from your FMIC setup.

In addition to all of this, with v-mount setup you also save your IC from destruction or damage in most fenderbenders, drift misshaps or poping over curbes, scraping on ground etc.

It will take probably 36 hours or so to take some time and get everything done 100% right. Materials will all be included. I am looking at a range of 800-1200 depending on the custom design, the hood and material pricing. This is obviously a large range and can be narrowed down based on each setup. Will be able to do it for CA, SR, KA-T. Let me know if you need/want more info. Pics of my setup can be seen here on the forums at the 12th and 30th picture. I don’t understand why you would ever want your car running at those temps.

If you dont understand that is great to hear, save it for some other post…there is Google, and a search button…

Colder temp, more power (IC), less chance of detonation (turbo intake)
colder temp boost longer and harder (less chance of overheating)
colder temp, less chance of engine damage due to overheating,

v-mount less chance of damage to IC in minor accidents

Is there anything else? Probably…

I also dont see why you should post if you have nothing positive to say. Are you interested? No?..that is great…

This setup is amazing and I am not the only one who will back that claim. There are others on the board running this setup and are very pleased with it. There are pro drifters who are running this set up and are very pleased with it, Signal auto cars, RSR s2000, Falken G35 to name a few. Please dont post if you have nothing with any importance to say.

I personally loved your set up when I saw it a Square One. 😃

This is something I may be intrested in for next season. Fixing my frontend, turbo system and suspension will be about it for Phase 1 this year.

Having a V-Mount set up though is something I’ve wanted for quite a while and I’d love to talk more about it to you sometime.

Again, great work and Im happy to hear it’s FULLY FUNCTIONAL too.

Have a good one man and we’ll talk soon.

Easy 8)

Wow defensive much. I not once knocked vmount setups which I think are sweet and take alot of skill to fabricate.

Secondly, since this is a for sale forum i’m not going to bother “arguing” what you say, but instead of me googling why don’t you, and do some research on fuel atomization in an internal combustion engine and proper engine operating temperatures. Ohh also ever wonder why your car has a thermostat that opens above ~175-180?

Cahil, running cool is good, but you’d still want your motor to run
somewhere in the 170F-180F range.

Running a cooler intake air temperature is good, but I wouldn’t go as far
as cooling my engine operating temperature so as to fall as cold as 140F.

But hey man, if you can prove its worth, awesome.

I’m curious as to how it dynos. The setup did look pretty nice and the
piping was nicely done too. :bigok:

All I’d like to add to this is that coolant temp doesn’t equal air intake temp.

true however i have included ducting to add to cooler air temp, it is part of the setup.

as for the rest of it ok i got pwned. can someone please explain to me why there are more and more d1 drivers using this setup?..

I’m not sure what the full benefits of the setup are, but i’d assume it is mainly to move the intercooler so that it is not sitting behind the radiator and having hot air blown onto it.

1. The intercooler is in FRONT of the rad (in most cases, shy Darian’s flat black monster)

2. you drive forward, thus the intercooler gets air first and then the rad.

The air travels ------\> engine bay.

1. Fans suck, not blow.

As well, shorter IC piping mean less lag and quicker spool too! That’s a major bennifit I think as well.

technically with numbers for cooling…assuming that I reach these temps @ 130kmh and they drive 130-160kmh (for only a short time frame too) why would a D1 driver opt to have his/her car run below the 170-180F mark…

unless of course my temp sensors are wrong…

Haha, ya good point, i’m an idiot. I typed that early this morning before heading out to work. No idea what was going through my head at that time. Maybe I should have gone outside and looked at my car first before typing
