i did the same thing, but when i did it, we were talking Crupi rounds/squares and Shimano DX platforms. the funny part was after “the switch” we all rushed the the bike shops to buy whatever set of DX’s they had. i remember being like 14 and acting hard because i had a black S&M dirtbike with black pitchforks, black dive bars, spraypainted black profiles, black TNT revolvers/black 7x’s, all being pulled down by black odyssey pitbulls with a black shimano LX lever, and a set of friggen green anodized DX’s lol.

same year i moved up to Pro single A and had a mint green Kastan and a flourescent green Auburn, both with gold anodized DX’s lol.

ahh, memories
