I think best bang for my buck would be selling the chassis only with the rb specific parts (exhaust radiator manifold) as a DIY RB26 swap kit. But we will see. ---

Serious question, why not run it in the 24 Hours of LeMons? They don’t crush cars anymore, the judges will give a bunch of penalty laps (who cares), but I think they would welcome the uniqueness of the car there. Probably would be the first “magazine caliber” car to be raced in LeMons. ---

I’m pretty sure his initial investment into an e30 shell was right around that. Having someone buy that post-race (especially after it probably gets banged up on the track) would suck in a whole bunch of ways. I still want to buy this. ---

There is a $500 limit if you don’t want penalty laps. I doubt newman would care about winning or being competitive so penalty laps are irrelevant. They have only claimed cars twice out of 80 some races, they didn’t claim a GTO or RX-8 that raced, just gave them a bunch of laps. I doubt that they would claim the car if you were forthcoming about the intent. It would take a simple email, “hey I’m bringing this car, with these mods, can you promise no to claim it”. ---

You know a hell of a lot more than me on the subject, but doesn’t the W2W aspect of the races cause damage on a regular basis, and wouldn’t people target his car for a little extra rub or two on a tight corner? I’m speaking off the cuff, and clearly we are getting way off topic. I don’t foresee Newman entering this into a LeMons race, lol.
