They don’t actually check the helmets? As long as I have one that isn’t a leather scull cap from the 40’s I should be ok?

no they check them. but if they dont know your car and it doesnt look like its gonna be a rocket they wont ask if you have one…if they ask you for a helmet just tell them you plan on running 14s with it. but bring your helmet and wear it anyway
