that plane was not shot down. think they even touched on that in the film. they had authority to splash it if in D.C. airspace but the closest bird was 150+ miles out and F-16’s don’t have the munition range (not to mention radar range) to acquire and engage from that distance.
it was crashed, whether deliberately by the hijackers or passengers, or accidentally by either.

To me, based on the facts, watching it would be on par with reading the bible as a non-fictional story.

Instead, I had dinner with the fiance & watched football.

Without watching it, you’ll never know, now will you?
I’ll tell you this much (that you don’t seem to realize): There were several people using phones to call loved ones. Some of these calls lasted over an hour.
