They said the largest crowd was around 10,000 people, but most of that number were either gawkers or peaceful protesters, the people causing real trouble were probably in the hundreds

went down just to see for my self met a guy protesting against American clothes… said he was really just protesting for the sake of protesting. I kinda got that feeling from most the people i saw, seemed like they were protesting just cause thats what they do. this just makes me dissapointed in canadians we are supposedly easy going. as far as the videos above you don’t really know what the situation is leading up to that they may have a perfectly valid reason.

Exactly. You have no idea what was going on prior to that 45 second clip. They may have been asked to get out of the street long before the massive police wall showed up but refused. I know one thing, that many police don’t just materialize out of thin air.
You mentioned many protesters being there just for the sake of protesting. That keeps bringing me back to my idea of not holding these things in the middle of major cities. An hour drive would eliminate the majority of the “casual protesters”.

would it be better to assault agents of the state? effectiively punishing people for doing the state’s illicit bidding for money?

i think if people dont like the way the country is being ran they can go back to where they came from.
disrespectful people come to canada, take advantage of everything they possibly can, talk shit about the country itself, its people, its leaders, everything.
world cup comes along and i see not ONE canadian flag, but millions of every other fukn country. it makes me sick.
i bet at least 75% of those people attacking the police were immigrants and they probly just did it for the fuck of it, because violence is “cool” and “gangster” not because they were actual upset with what was going on with g20.
i dont give a fuck. ill say this shit right to peoples faces too. and im not racist at all. i have many immigrant friends that are extremely respectful people that are thankful to be living here and i consider them life long friends. to all the others, fuck you. go die in a suicide bombing you ungrateful pieces of shit

1.) Canada is not in the world cup. Why would people go there to root for a team that isn’t in it? That’s like going to Johannesburg with a Maple Leafs or Sabres jersey.
