i dont have any flags on my car cuz i dont really care about soccer anymore but if i did have an irish flag, best believe there would be a canadian flag somewhere on it too. whether or not canada is in the finals or whatever. its a respect thing. you/your family/ your ancestors came here for a reason. all im saying is people need to have some respect and not enough people demand it for our country. im one of the few that do. everyday i watch this crap on the news in other countries i praise the universe that i live here and not there

i dont really care. the fact that half the people that showed up had there faces covered with bandanas and shit tells me they showed up to cause a riot, not to have a peaceful protest. but anyways, fuck this thread. i got my $0.02 in cheers

Those bandanas are used for a protesting tactic called Black Bloc. It makes the group seem like they are protesting as more of a whole and promotes solidarity.
And Canada has to earn it’s respect before respect will be given.

The Black Bloc tactic originated from Germany but is practiced everywhere in the world. They were saying that most of the people acting out dressed in Black weren’t from this city at all. A lot weren’t even from the country. Just people wanting to fuck shit up, get violent and act out against the law. That’s why the cops just said fuck it, and started arresting everyone.
I saw on the news that there was a couple that lived in the downtown core, trying to go to dinner when they were arrested and held for 4 hours just for being the in the vacinity of PEACEFUL protesters.
Fuck the police

Hold a summit that cost $930+ million after hosting thr Winter Olympics that cost our country $9.2 billion, in one of the worse economic times in this country’s history, only to consequently raise taxes during a period of still elevated unemployment rates, national and personal debt, and bankruptcy. Let’s leave the human rights issue aside for a moment and focus on the numbers, since that’s one of the pillars in this G20 business. Which group of geniuses thought this would be a good idea? In all honesty, I want to know how with the aforementioned said, they thought this would be beneficial to Canada in any way, shape, or form. Common sense tells me this would be ludicrous to entertain, let alone perform. Do you not agree with that?
