I struck the approaching menace with all my strength and almost fell over at the total lack of resistance that a helium balloon offers when you punch the living shit out of it with all the stength that sudden middle of the night terror produces.

First time read, long time balloon user.
I can empathize as my son was obsessed with balloons for a time and the same happened to me.
Nothing quite describes the chaos that a mylar balloon makes when it hits a ceiling fan at 2am.

LOL!
As a kid I had a Mario Brothers poster above my bed. It was probably 4 or 5ft wide…Well it fell on me in the middle of the night and scared the shit out of me.
