No word of any new features yet. Hopefully they added something cool to this major release. ---

Bad news for people looking for the iPhone 3G to be unlocked to be used on other networks. Baseband was updated in this release. Somewhat of a setback for the dev teams. ---

yeah, I believe quickpwn does it, but be aware that you can potentially screw your phone up doing that. edit: and AFAIK, you’ll need other hacks to get things like edge and SMS working on the network ---
