pedestrians have the right of way… cyclists don’t just jump onto people’s cars for no reason.

For some reason I doubt it was any fault of the driver. I’ve been in bitching matches with so many asshole cyclists that think they own the road. They’ll stop in the left turning lane like a car but they’ll blow a red light right as you’re about to make a right-on-red. They feel they can be a car half the time and a bicycle the other half the time, basically whichever half they see fit at that given time.
The fact is I’M STILL IN A CAR. Do these people have a death wish? Well obviously this tard did. No sympathy. I am passing judgment.
And yes, I did read the article, especially this:

I miss being able to get to Troy, MI in 3 hours. Not a big problem since my best friend moved out of that shithole though. Cruise control set in the triple digits.

i think the hit and run is that he hit teh cyclist initially then tried to leave when the cyclist attached himself to the car… his driving with the guy on his car is the hit and run… followed by another hit and run…
just because you call it in and cooperate after the fact doesnt mean you didnt hit and run… if he was not at the scene of the body he ran… if he was not at the scene of the initial impact… he ran

Using the turning lane is sometimes safer / doesn’t inconvenience the people in automobiles. Other times it is such an inconvenience to people in cars that I avoid it, or it’s simply not safe. But I’d say I’m sensible when riding. The same can’t be said for everyone.
Just ride down Elmwood and watch the wacky shit bicyclists do: riding the wrong way on a sidewalk, riding 3 abreast down the street, crossing intersections diagonally… wearing cutoff jean shorts…

I hate to stereotype, but the guy was a bike courier. When was the last time you were in a major city and saw one who rode sensibly?
