Thanks man. You certainly can buy a diesel, since 2009 (VW anyway). I believe they stopped selling the TDI’s from 06-08 and since then it’s a completely new engine and they also have added a DPF (filter in exhaust) to keep it clean. Maybe that had something to do with it.

You also get an income tax credit for buying a clean diesel vehicle.
