We have actually been slacking on the Ricer because of our new shop location, but things have settled down and we now have it here at our new place.

We have some things done- AMS’s small brake kit all around, megan coilovers, small Koyo and FAL fan, and a carbon lip. I would like to see a carbonfiber roof and hood, but we’ll see what the next few months hold.

We have some 15" rota slipstream’s, but may have to go with a different wheel and we will be running 4 slicks this year as well.

The engine bay is all tore apart waiting on a new 35R TiAL V-band set-up that STM will be fabricating {thumbup} That’s why we have the half-size radiator… that new set up is going to need some room!

We will also be creating a new exhaust for the evo… a VERY lightweight one. When that’s in progress I’ll get some pics and sound clips when it’s done.

Last year this car ran a 10.6@134… Fastest stock block evo.
And this year, we will be staying stock block to crush that record. 🙂

Thanks for looking and I’ll keep you updated as we move along!

unless the compound is different they should feel pretty much the same… size just help prevent fade… more pots can help with feel and even pad wear. how a pad bites really just depends on compound and if a pad is in its happy temp range.

I love evo’s with little wheels and slicks… they look so evil:

It was mainly for the weight difference… and of course the smaller wheels required to run slicks won’t fit over the big-ass Brembo’s!

I’m not good with numbers, but I’m sure Emery remembers exactly how much was shaved between the brakes and Coilovers.

ok that’s just silly (smaller brakes). why not get titanium bolts for everything \</sarcasm\>. car still has FACTORY GLASS and you’re doing weight redux with the BRAKES?! that’s smart.

being able to roll down your windows is kinda of a nice luxury on a street car, thats like saying why dont you pull every panel off the car, stereo, speakers, front and back seats and then asking a passenger to go for a drive with you.
i doubt he is making this a track only car (could be wrong though).

This coming from the guy who traded his built ttmotor with turbokit for stock motor… J/k

Straightline is different than autox or rally like most people use evos for. Taking out p/s, swaybars, and smaller brakes is very very common for drag, not so much for every other sport.

Are you not all there? I do not road race the car and the new brakes shave 32lbs off the front of the car and 22lbs off the rear, the majority off that is rotating mass. Why and how would lexan windows benefit me more. And yes this car will be driven on the street also.

I know you don’t road race. TRUST ME I thank god every day I don’t have to share a track with people like you 😉 Thank god you wrench better than you type/speak.

From YOUR post, in the other thread about brakes (superblue)

> [@ATE superblue?](https://forums.speedlife.net/t/ate-superblue/43566/32):
>
> I would think they would heat up quite a bit trying to stop 3500 lbs from a 135 mph roll. Maybe not enough to boil the fluid right away, but my point is I would have rather had better pad on it when that happen. All my point is I would rather be safe then sorry.

So how do you plan on stopping the car now?

PS, my comment was that you were going about things in the wrong order, IMO - removing a whopping 50LB from the brakes vs, say, a rear wiper delete or lexan… seems silly to me. TO ME. IN MY OPINION . . . Notice the modifiers there? I totally “get” why a small brake kits makes sense for a drag car (maybe drag-only not drag-but-we-also-street it but whatever). But to spend money on THAT first? That’s what I said was “silly” - but then again…

**PPS - why do you have a strut tower bar if you’re trying to save weight, and don’t road race?**

They dont look that small to me? I dont rember looking at them at the shop and thinking they were tiny  I actually thought the small brakes were so you could run smaller wheels for slicks/hoosiers…?
