It’s a requested x-mas present via my sister, for Ed at their home in Atlanta. Well I’m getting closer to finishing up this mailbox for my sister. All the major fab is done, just have ot machine a few parts and then start the painting and bolting odds and ends onto the core part shown here in the pictures. You’ll get the basic idea of how nutty I am when it comes to this crap from these pictures: Start with a mere metal mailbox, hack it all up, template and tack on a bunch of sheet: ![http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o285/Boxxersix/box1.jpg](http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o285/Boxxersix/box1.jpg) Bust out some junk stainless 316L sheet, mix it with some McLaren talk and you end up with something like this: ![http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o285/Boxxersix/box2.jpg](http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o285/Boxxersix/box2.jpg) Add a few more little things kicking around the shop, some junk AN fittings and line, and you move further to this: ![http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o285/Boxxersix/box3.jpg](http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o285/Boxxersix/box3.jpg) It’s ready for the coat of epoxy primer, then paint on Monday. After that I’ll assemble it with the other odd pieces I’ve set aside for the thing and show you guys the final piece. ---

If someone is going to steal it, they’re gonna have to try really hard in a busy residential area :nod Mailbox will be bolted and welded to the base in the end. I wanted to put one of those littel recorder boxes in there that you can buy from Build A Bear in Xgates. Realistically if I were to make something like this to market it would be VERY expensive. I have probably a good solid week in fab/design plus parts and materials. I do this sort of crap all the time though for customers with their junk parts and race components. Makes great convo pieces. ---
