Yay my turn for one of these threads! A couple of friends are having a their bachelor’s parties down in NO. Just wondering who has been down there, anything particular to check out? What I am most concerned with is restaurants, the rest I am sure can be figured out fairly easily. Thankkksssssssss ---

Be prepared to eat a lot of fried food. Everything is a fucking Po’ Boy down there. French Quarter is ok, fucking gets tiring tho, drinking 24/7 and shit. Also, if you make a wrong turn… yikes. ---

the gumbo shop in the french quarter is superb. Also Hand Grenades (its a drink) are great. They get you fucked up real quick. However at a place called the Rat’s Hole on Bourbon St they got this thing called the Rat Attack. Even stronger and doesn’t taste like ass when all the ice melts. Just don’t get freaked out by the guy behind the counter that serves them to you. ---

Don’t walk down any empty streets or you’ll get robbed. Stick to the busy areas. Place is a dump imo. ---

Its pretty sweet, Burbon street is cool for about a day. Then you’ll want to find someplace else to go. But there are a lot of good restaurants right in that area. Basically pick your price range and try around. You can’t really go wrong. Stay in groups… ---

I was there in December. The airport sucks ass. I thought Buffalo had a bad airport until we got off the plane in NO. Eek. French Quarter is cool. Lots of interesting things to see and do. Like everyone else says, stick to the crowded areas. Don’t expect to eat healthy either. It’s fun for a few days. That’s about it. ---

Who’s been? So I’m heading down to New Orleans with 4 other dudes for a bachelor party…None of us has ever been there. What should we not miss? What should we avoid? We’re basically staying on Burbon st…two blocks from it down Canal st. towards the casino. We want to give the groom to be a good send off, so any advice would be most welcome! Thanks! ---

No prob. It might have been because you used ‘NOLA’ instead of spelling it out, but it doesn’t give an exhaustive list either. ---
