Add vintage dual sport motorcycles to the list! I was pretty impressed when I took some measurements and decided to go through with it. I needed to get it from my father in laws house in Batavia to focus in progress’s house in Cheektowaga
First I tried a trailer. There was nothing to ratchet the bike to, as my father in law modified it with high plywood sides. Ripper decided to come and help me out-
I had to loosen the bars to get it to fit, but other than that, it fit great. I could even close the bottom of the tailgate, had to bungee the top gate
All in all, great success.

I love the versatility of small hatches. Just talked my brother in law into a Scion xD. Too bad Honda had to make the Element so damn ugly with that plastic Fisher Price would call low rent.

The late models have painted fenders. I have witnessed a shopping cart slamming into the “ugly” plastic fender at a good rate of speed as I walked to the car. Not a scuff. These cars were designed to be function \>\>\>\> form, and the love comes from it’s capabilities, not from it’s sleek body lines

I’m always astounded by people using non-traditional trucks to transport bikes. When I sold my CB750 a dude came from chicago to buy it, and showed up with a early 2000’s jeep grand cherokee…the thing barely fit, had it layed on it’s side with the gas tank removed, bars removed, and the front seat folded forward so the front wheel of the bike had a place to rest. The element was WAY better at transporting a bike haha. Now I only have one more person that needs to get their bike over here, and he posted in this thread :gay:
