Rolling Stone will be publishing Hunter S. Thompson’s alleged suicide note in the next issue. Here it is, entitled “Football Season is Over”, written four days before his death: “No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun – for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax – This won’t hurt.” I dunno… everyone says it’s the real thing, but I doubt this one even more than Kurt Cobain’s. ---

There was really no other way for him to go. and HST is NOT overrated. Him and Tom Wolfe were HUGE influences on the way writing has progressed. Gonzo journalism \> \* kinda like how the Ramones are one of the greatest most influential bands ever, but their music itself wasnt really all that complicated to play. ---
