# Thoughts on Tranny oil

Im on my second SR transmission and been running redline MT90 for years in them now and after installing this one I thought all was well but Im getting some whirring on decel and just for the hell of it I want to try some different oil. Id like to hear what other people run and be specific please -type,weight, etc.

Anyone ever try amsoil in their trans? I used it on a previous car and loved it.

what do you mean by whirrling on decel?

i hear a whirrling sound too, but thats with the clutch in, and the shifter still in gear. that is the only time i hear that whirl sound.

i have no idea what it signifies, so if somebody would care to explain it, it would be greatly appreciated! thanks

the only time that noise should really concern you is if its really really loud in any gear or if it is in only the top 3 or lower 3 gears.  
first is the bearing, second is the input shaft

ic, ya the noise is only noticable if the whole car is quiet. even so, the noise isn’t loud at all. only the owner of the car would be able to pick it out.

so i’m guessing its just the normal sound of the bearing. and until it gets louder, the bearing is reaching the end of its lifespan.
