Any of you with FIOS - do your set top boxes randomly decide not to show the time for prolonged periods of time? I know where you can go in to the settings to set it to show the channel or the clock on the front display, and mine is set to show the clock but it primarily shows the channel or DVR status.

super annoying, anyone know how to fix it?

Mine’s fine. Randomly says “channel not available” until I unplug it for 30 seconds, can’t record HD, but it displays the time fine. I gotta get this thing replaced.

im confused

anyways i found out why this does it and how to fix it (well a work around).

everytime they issue a new update to the boxes it changes it back to showing the channel instead of time, but if doesnt reflect it in the settings. so despite the fact that you may have changed it in settings –\> set top box –\> front display, you need to change it again. Everytime it will show that it is set to show time, but if you change it back to “channel” and then back to “clock” again it will work until the next update or until they fix their updates.

i was getting so sick of waking up, seeing “502” on my DVR box thinking its 5am and to start waking up for work and find out its fucking 1:45am
