Monoprice has some really decent splitters. They are similar to the quality that time warner installs in your house and might be a little better.

Your good BigEd, 0 is optimal for downstream. Your transmit is fine, the modem is old, but with d3 I think there is only the 5101 and 5101X models that are newer, TW still hands out 5100s and they hit their cap and work like tanks still to this day. Not to mention they are better then the brand new ambit/ubee’s that were made yesterday, sad.

Well, at least this way I know what I have wired int he house is as good as it can possibly get. Which, normally any tech would fix those issues before looking further. So I feel better about that.
Also, thanks to LZ, and Jabbu we now have tons of information about cable/modems. Many thanks to you guys, glad we have some people here that are knowledgeable about these things.
