> Oleg, not trying to start a war here (i think you are a good guy) but if you really think the snowbanks are going to change at all in only 3 weeks you are dreaming. We are probably going to have these suckers blocking views for at least another month and a half - 2 months. And if you wear the proper gear, you really aren’t very cold at all. I was actually warmer this morning than I’ve been in my car without heat. And getting salt on the bike just means you gotta clean it.

Snowbanks blocking view in the middle of April? Come on. The only snowbanks we’ll have by then are going to be at the mall parking lots, third week of march most snow is usually gone and we are steady in the 50s. If I recall last year by first week of march it was already getting warm and roads were clean. Personally, I don’t have the gear to ride comfortably below 50, and I’m usually a bit rusty after a winter, so I prefer not to stack the odds by going out this early in the year. But I’m only speaking for myself.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m envious of anyone that gets to go out and ride right now, but I still think that it’s unwise.
