# titling a car without registering it

this is probably a stupid question, but I have no experience with this.

Can you go to the dmv and just have a car switched into your name without registering it? I bought a car awhile back for a project and would like the title in my name incase I plan on selling it between now and complettion. I’m not going to register/insure a parked car.

Yea, you just have to pay the title fee. there is a form…

And there is this number you can call 2 weeks after you give them the title and the back office will pull your title and do it faster if you ask extra nice…
