# Too much ass

For better or for worse (mostly for worse), I think we can all agree that cars are getting bigger, but what’s with the huge rear ends that stick into the air like a hoodrat in a waist belt? Check out the following rear 3/4 pics from the 1990s and then current cars:

Guessing this is some DOT safety thing? Whatever the reason, it’s making new cars FUCKING UGLY.

Looks like they found a way to cut production costs by making plastic bumpers bigger and metal quarter panels smaller on a few of those, especially the smaller cars.
It looks like the designer of that Ferrari forgot about taillights and then had to stick some on.

People these days want more storage space. Items are getting bigger and bulkier, the average amercian buys a ton more shit they do not need in order to keep up with the person down the street. Bigger items needs bigger spaces to get them home. Also americans are fatter uglier and lazier, requiring fatter uglier and more spacious cars

also, I think the taller trunk is a EURO thing. They’ve started doing those to store items verically more than horizontally to make the trunk shotrer in length because space is at a premium there, esp in the cities. the rest of the manufacturers followed suit.
